Protest Graffiti – Isla Verde, Puerto Rico 05/16/2010
This public beach near the touristy Isla Verde (near San Juan) was supposedly sold to private developers by corrupt public officials, or so says the gentleman supervising the beach camp-in. Miranda and I dropped in one day in July, 2008 on our way to San Juan. The Spanish reads: "friends of the ocean", "beaches without bars", "Plutonium-free Caribbean", "the beaches belong to the people", and "Piñones is not for sale". Add Comment Puerto Rico 05/09/2010
I lived in Puerto Rico from 2000 to 2004. I spent six weeks there again during the summer of 2008. These pictures are from 2008. |
